As Spidergoats, we take family day trips around the area. We checked out the castle we view every day from our place. It's one of the most modern castles I've seen here in Spain. Inside the newer castle is old remains of the old castle that used to be there. The view is what amazed me. It gave us a different perspective of the town Aguilas, where we live. Such a beautiful coast line. We are really fortunate to be living in such a Paradise.
There was a old man of Aguilas years ago who started to mosaic his place and around town. He built a beautiful shrine in a residential neighborhood all with mosaic tiles. He did such a tremendous amount of work by himself. He did mosaic until he passed away at an old age. Now mostly the residents enjoy to sit in his park and shrine area for they are pretty hidden in town from tourists.
We also found a sweet spot on the beach about 5 km. south of us. There's cave dwellings, 2 bars, and a beautiful sandy beach. The cave looks like something from Dr. Suess. Amazing place for a swim.

Cops
I wanted to write a section on cops since the topic is always asked about. We have had the metropolitan cops, county cops, state patrol, you name it, they have all come here. At first the metro cops would park on the bluff next to us and peer over at what we're up to. After a month of that they got brave and came on into Isla Bonita. We showed them all through the place and welcomed them. The cops were impressed with what we've done to the place. They told us to keep up the good work and as long as we're being good citizens then all is good. Wheww. The state cops drove right on in with no questions asked. We also gave them a tour of the place. They asked for all of us to give them our passports in which we did. They wrote down our passport numbers as we smoked a cigarette in a circle. It was super casual and the two were really nice. They also liked how we made a chandelier out of garbage and utilized everything around us. They said they would be back to check in on us but to keep up the good work. They haven't come back since. The county cops strolled up to the gate and walked in. We gave the ol tour and they were quit impressed with the place. Even gave us some tips on converting salt water into fresh water to help for gardening. One of them was super excited for us. We told him he could come back when he was off duty and help out if he would like. In the meantime, the cops ask us if everything is going good. No troubles with anyone. Wow. The cops here are amazing. They all have a good personality and are there if we need help. Great feeling.

Easter
Easter is called Semana Santa here in Spain. It's a two week long celebration full of parades and camping. The people who live in town go camping Easter weekend Friday thru Sunday at the beaches right outside of the town. One of the nights we walked down to the bigger beach to check out the parties. They had DJ's playing Spanish techno music and a whole punk scene. We danced our hearts out and had a blast. The Saturday before Easter is a big creepy parade. Everyone is so serious in it but yet they hand out candy to the kids. At night the parade us all lit up by fire. Way more intense. We had a chocolate egg hunt at our place for the adults and kids. Definitely a fun and different Easter.

Block colors
Right after Jonas left, Inga and Constitine showed up at Isla Bonita by walking from Lithuania. They actually knew Jonas from there and missed him by half an hour. A couple of days later a gentleman arrived on bicycle from England named Gerard. He's been a big help at our place. He took an old idea of making compost tea for our gardens. He set it all up in a huge container we had on hand. A few weeks ago we are producing the tea efficiently. Every day he would wake up early and help come up with new ideas and produce them. Gerard stayed with us a couple of weeks. It was a pleasure having him stay. People are still showing up all the time. All travellers.
Sanson's family came and hung out with us for a bit. He brings us power tools and fun times. Tattooing from his van and Caroline painted the front entrance block colors which looks great. We all have been doing big block colors on any white wall. Mostly to cover up the crapy graffiti. The good creative graffiti we've kept. Once the block colors are all done we then have a base coat to paint something creative on top. The kids did a cool fire show at night and roasted marshmallows on the fire. Lorenzo a guy from Italy stayed for a couple of night's and could play any instrument we had. Its nice when we all sit around and play music. Especially to hear all different styles being everyone is from somewhere different.
Tom has been building a boat by hand. His materials are wood and plastic bottles. About every 2 days he takes it into the ocean and sees what adjustments he needs to make. It's a work in progress.
Joe and Melly got a gig painting a mural on the wall at the weed club. It turned out beautiful. One is a flower and the other one is a logo of the club. The owner Kiko is super happy about the murals. Two guys stayed with us for two days. One is from Ireland and the other from Barcelona. We gave them a place to relax for a bit and to enjoy the company. They left us a cool painting on our garden grounds. Fun to have all different artistic styles.
